VP Cloud Architecture

The VP Cloud Architecture will develop, document, maintain and execute the strategic technology plan for Seequent and provide a technical vision that will enable our business for years to come. The role will work in a consultative fashion with engineering, product, design, business, sales and sector stakeholders to develop this strategy and to advise on technology decisions and architecture. The VP Cloud Architecture and their team will set standards, develop policy, and provide architectural direction to the engineering teams and ensure alignment between inter-related business functions.

The individual must bring a pragmatic working knowledge of geology, geophysics, visualization, high performance computing, desktop and cloud technologies; as well as a deep understanding of modern technology and industry trends. The individual will be responsible for assessing Seequent's current situation and developing strategic, achievable plans for the technology and engineering teams across the company - aligning Seequent's efforts to enable key business outcomes.

• Establish, communicate, and maintain technology strategy and architecture for Seequent's products and platforms and ensure that this strategy can support the growing and changing needs of the business.
• Lead Seequent's platform development and architectural design to ensure alignment with the organization's long-term business strategy.
• Work closely with the Executive Team to set direction and translate business priorities into a technical agenda.
• Recognize potential reuse in the organization or within applications by observing and understanding the broader context within Seequent.
• Understand the interactions and dependencies among components, teams and business opportunities; communicate these concepts effectively to stakeholders and your teams.
• The role will act to improve efficiencies and reduce duplication of technical effort across the whole of Seequent.
• Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in the technology landscape and provide a current knowledge and future vision of enabling technologies, systems and best practices.

What Success Looks Like

• You will curate and provide the technical strategy for Seequent's cloud products and platform.
• You will work with the design and engineering functions of the company to action this strategy into a working implementation that solves customer problems and opens up new business opportunities.
• You will facilitate cross-functional communication and interactions between engineering and other functions (e.g. product, design, sales, marketing, operations, testing, planning, etc.).
